About this Wiki

Permafrost Wiki is a fan-made, community-maintained resource. We document survival mechanics, crafting recipes, base building, cold-weather gear and co-op strategies with verified details from official sources where available.

The game launched into Steam Early Access on October 9, 2026. Because the world is changing fast, some numbers and tier opinions are editor-driven community data and may trail a patch — we label those clearly.

About Permafrost

Permafrost is a story-driven open-world survival sandbox set on a near-future Earth trapped in an endless, brutal winter. After the Shattering — a lunar catastrophe that buried the planet under ice and snow — you play as Rook, an engineer with rebuilding skills but little wilderness instinct, chasing a radio signal from a long-lost friend.
